Construction of the Sohar Airport near the city of Sohar to serve the city and the surrounding Batinah region in the northern part of Oman.
The project scope comprised the construction of 4 km runway with turning loops at the ends, taxiway and terminal building apron. In addition, the scope covered mass grading, connecting asphalt roads, water channel, underground reservoir, stormwater collection ponds, various utility networks, duct banks, electrical substation building, guard house building, boundary and security fences. The works also included specialised work like airfield lighting, engineering and installation of fuel hydrant system, design and construction of sewage treatment plant, landscaping and irrigation works.
Works were completed in August 2011 after 24 months construction time.
